TGIA’s Latest and Greatest
Thank you for subscribing to this month’s newsletter. August is always a busy month for us, as we prepare for our fall semester program. We are very excited about all of our upcoming events. Check all that we have accomplished this month!
To prepare for our new participants, TGIA hosted several mentor orientations to explain the roles and responsibilities of our mentors. We reviewed discussion topics and lessons that mentors are to initiate with their mentees. Our Mentors had great dialogue about what it means to be a mentor and how they will make this experience extraordinary.
Each month TGIA has a special guest speaker. This speaker shares why they chose their particular career path as well as helpful tips. In September our guest speaker is Kristen Feemster. Kristen is a mental health professional, fitness instructor, wellness coach, and founder of Believe. Be Free. Be Well. LLC (B3). Her passion for emotional and physical wellness has laid the foundation for B3’s mission of moving others towards freedom. Opportunities with B3 include wellness coaching, group or personal workouts, and mental health related workshops/trainings in the community. Kristen incorporates physical activity into all aspects of B3 to encourage mental fortitude, confidence and self-efficacy.
It is because of generous volunteers like you that we are able to change lives. We would really appreciate your support this semester! The school year has already begun and we are in need of tutors for the fall semester.
